OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN

WHATEVER YOU CAN DO OR DREAM YOU CAN, BEGIN IT.

BOLDNESS HAS GENIUS, POWER AND MAGIC IN IT.

BEGIN IT NOW.

---GOETHE

The great mind of country had the ability to make others join their endeavour to convert dreams into reality. Our nation has ample of dreams to be fulfilled and we have great minds also but still we can observe that India is still developing. What may be the reason? I wonder because as of I know India has talent as well as the power to procure what potentially a developed nation can. I once read Dr. Abdul Kalam’s interview, somebody asked him “Who is our biggest enemy”: he answered “Poverty”

Yes, its poverty that is killing us and has deep carved holes in our country. If we ponder over this situation it is not a small issue. Our government is squandering lakh crores over the development but what exactly is the result. As the proposition says “Opportunities within”. We have to find the opportunities within ourselves. Our development will only result in the development of our country and if we are able to help our society as well that is more than wonderful. But the question is in such a large country where to start from?

Difficult to answer but it does have an answer though.

MEN OFTEN BECOME WHAT THEY BELIEVE THEMSELVES TO BE. IF I BELIEVE I CANNOT DO SOMETHING, IT MAKES ME INCAPABLE OF DOING IT. BUT WHEN I BELIEVE I CAN, THEN I ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO DO IT EVEN IF I DIDN’T HAVE IT IN THE BEGINNING.

---MAHATAMA GANDHI

There is nothing mysterious about the abundance in developed nations. We should know that youth is our future, it’s within our country we can optimally utilize them. A proper education would help nurture a sense of dignity and self respect among the youth. These are the qualities that no law can enforce-they have to be nurtured ourselves. Once Dr. Abdul Kalam said “Dream, dream, dream. Dream transforms into thoughts. Thoughts results into actions.” What is called “Revolutionary”, its nothing but dreams resulting into thoughts then into actions. If there are no thoughts, no actions will emanate. One has to act only planning doesn’t work.

Some data here can vouch that Indians are among the world most revered persons (a fact most people in India don’t know)

1.We Indians are the wealthiest among all ethnic groups in America.

2. There are 3.22 million of Indians in USA (15% of population)

3. 3% of doctors, 12% scientists, 36% of NASA scientists, 34% of Microsoft employees, 28% of IBM employees, 17% of INTEL scientists & 13% of XEROX employees in USA are Indians.

4. GM of HP: Rajiv Gupta

5. Creator of Pentium chip (90% of today’s computers run on it): Vinod Dahm

6. Founder of HOTMAIL (world’s no. 1 web based email program): Sabeer Bhatia

7. Chief Executives of Citibank, McKensey & Stanchart: Victor Menezes, Rajat Gupta & Rana Talwar

There are many more examples even a whole book can written on it. Imagine if these people would have worked for India where would our country reach. People say we are short of money so called capital. I should tell them that the combine income of Ambanis can buy a small country like Sri Lanka. Kingfisher CEO Vijay Maliya has his own jet, a cruise & more than 60 cars on his name. What’s call money then? India has money, so the question is where to spend that money. This may be the answer to the opportunities within. India uses its money in politics, religious communalism & creating unrest in the country. A scholar once said that “For great men, religion is a way of making friends; small people make religion a fighting tool.” Unfortunately for India, not many have helped India to become a nation of peace. Indians have got really good memory for adversities. Not enough effort has been made in the last fifty years to foster that memory. The central theme of any religion is spiritual well being. Indeed it should be understood that the foundation of secularism in India has to be deprived from spirituality. It is because our sense of mission has weakened & we have ceased to be true to our culture and ourselves. If we come to look upon ourselves as divided people with no pride in our past and no faith in the future, what else can we look forward to except frustration, disappointment and despair?

The greatest danger to our sense of unity and our sense of purpose comes from ideologists who seek to divide people. What we need today is a vision for a nation which can bring unity. It is when we accept India in all splendid glory that, with a shared past as a base, we look forward to a shared future of peace and prosperity, of creation and abundance. The developed India will not be a nation of cities. It will be a network of prosperous villages empowered by tele-education and e-commerce. This attitude will lead to minimizing the rural-urban divide as progress takes place in the countryside and urbanites move to rural areas to absorb the best of what nature can give in the form of products and wealth. The most important and urgent task before our leadership is to get all the forces for constructive change together and deploy them in a mission mode. India is a country of one billion people with numerous religions and communities. It offers wide spectrum of ideologies, besides its geographic diversity. This is our greatest strength. The people have to come together to create a harmonious India.

India has to find its opportunities within itself. India has potential, knowledge and culture sharing. India should concentrate on its stronger points like its rich heritage & traditions. Every state in our country has a unique core competence. India is ready to become a knowledge superpower because of abundance of knowledge it possess. By this we can see how we have so much of things within India itself but all it need is to ignite its youth to work through the development of India as a whole not regions.
